Dr. Evelyn Lee Gaik Lyn

Dr Evelyn Lee is a Consultant Orthodontist based in Subang Jaya branch, located in Mediplex Subang Jaya Medical Centre. She graduated as a dental surgeon from the National University of Malaysia at the top of her class. Dr Evelyn excelled academically during her undergraduate training and received multiple merit awards including the University Book Prize Award. After graduation, she served the Ministry of Health and subsequently continued her postgraduate training in the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College of London in the United Kingdom.

She specialised in Orthodontics and was conferred the Masters in Science in Orthodontics in 2009 followed by the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons England (MOrth) in 2010. During her training in the Eastman Dental Hospital, she had received several awards for her research in the “Psychosocial Effects of Inferior Dental Nerve Damage in Post-Orthognathic Patients” and published several articles in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr Evelyn had a special interest in the management of cleft lip and craniofacial deformities which led her to pursue a fellowship in cleft and craniofacial orthodontics in the University of Melbourne and Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Australia. She was also appointed as a Clinical Lecturer in the Orthodontics Department in the University of Melbourne. With many years of experience, Dr Evelyn is proficient in managing both simple and complex malocclusions including multi-disciplinary treatment. She strives to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment with the highest level of care for her patients.

Dr. Mah Eng Ching is a qualified Orthodontist specializing in children and adult orthodontics especially complex or multidisiplinary cases.  He graduated from University Malaya in year 2004 with Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree and obtained his Membership in Faculty of Dental Surgery from Royal college of Surgeon of England in year 2008.

In the same year 2008, he was awarded the scholarship from Ministry of Health Malaysia to pursue his doctorate degree in Orthodontics in Bristol,United Kingdom. Dr Mah completed his doctor of Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from University of Bristol, United Kingdom and Membership of Orthodontics from Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh in year 2011. He was awarded the 3M clinical Prize (best clinical prize) during his post- graduate study in University of Bristol.

Dr Mah has good interpersonal and communication skill, and managerial qualities. He is thus well-liked by his colleagues and friends. He has served in places where patients were from poorest communities in Malaysia and extremely disadvantaged in terms of receiving dental treatment.

Dr Mah has worked in both hospital and clinic settings since his graduation and has thus acquired good clinical skills and patient management. He set up the Lanang Orthodontic specialist clinic in Sibu Sarawak in year 2012 and worked as the head of department till September 2015. He has been transferred back to Selangor, and working as head of units for 2 different clinics (Rawang Orthodontics Specialist Clinic and Klang Orthodontics Specialist Clinic) till march 2018. After he left government sector, he joined the private sector and teaching as a senior lecturer at Mahsa University till now.

Dr Olivia Wong Oi Ying

Dr Olivia Wong graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She has returned home after working across both public and private sectors for several years in the UK. She is proficient with preventive and restorative dental care.

Dr Olivia is passionate about providing quality compassionate care to all her patients. She is a gentle dentist who enjoys interacting with her patients, and always aim to provide a comfortable experience to the patients.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, travelling and watching sports. She is a big fan of Manchester United Football Team!

Dr. Sathesh Balasundram

Dr. Sathesh attained his primary qualification in medicine and dentistry from the University of Malaya and his specialist training in the United Kingdom. He had been working with the Ministry of Health as a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He is a member of the Faculty of Examiners for The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a reviewer for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Sathesh has also been examining Maxillofacial Surgery trainees both locally and abroad.

His field of specialty includes oral and maxillofacial trauma, tumours, cancer, prosthesis, temporomandibular joint disorder and implant.

Dr Saraswathy Devi Sinniah

Dr. Saras is a locum specialist based in Subang branch, located in Subang Jaya Medical Centre. She had obtained her primary dental degree from University of Science Malaysia in 2005, and served at the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia for 5 years before pursuing her studies in Orthodontics. She obtained her Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) with Distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, United Kingdom and a Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons England (RCS England) in 2013. Upon completion, she continued serving the MOH as a specialist until 2015, before moving on to a teaching institution as a specialist orthodontist and a lecturer.

She is passionate about her work and service to the people, always keeping in mind to deliver treatment to benefit others and improve their quality of life. Working as a locum specialist orthodontist at KLIDC has created another platform for her to treat more dental malocclusions that may improve with orthodontics alone or in conjunction with other specialties.

Dr Sharmaine Yeow Shumei

Dr. Sharmaine received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the National University of Malaysia in 2012. After graduating, she worked with Ministry of Health Malaysia in various dental specialities for 2 years. Subsequently, she practiced general dentistry with special interest in Orthodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry and Dental Implantology in a private dental group.

In the effort of pursuing her interests, Dr. Sharmaine obtained her Certificate in Orthodontics (POS). She also received a Fellowship in Advanced Periodontology and Implantology from University of Genoa, Italy in 2019.

Dental phobia is of the main reasons which holds one back to seek for assistance in dental problems or treatments. Dr. Sharmaine strongly believes that kindness and gentleness in a dentist can make a difference to achieve stress-free dental treatment sessions.

Dr Calvin Cheong Leong Jin

Dr Calvin Cheong graduated from AIMST University, with a “special presentation award” in National Dental Student Scientific Conference in 2017. He served for 2 years of government service in Klang, Selangor before joining the private sector.

Dr Calvin is currently a member of Malaysian Dental Association. He frequently attends courses and workshops, keeping updated to provide comprehensive care for his patients. He also attends multiple orthodontic courses (conventional, self-ligating, aligners, etc) to improve his knowledge on braces treatment. He takes time to explain patient’s condition and each procedure, making sure the patient fully understands, as well as making sure the patient stays comfortable throughout the procedure.

Dr. Zethy Hanum Mohamed Kassim graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University Malaya in 2005. She pursued clinical training in the field of Prosthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute and obtained her Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from University College London, United Kingdom in 2011. She received a Fellowship in Advanced Periodontology and Implantology from the University of Genoa, Italy in 2016. Her expertise is in rehabilitation of patients with worn, mutilated or missing teeth with conventional and implant restorations.

Dr. Zethy is registered with the National Specialist Register, Malaysia as a specialist in Prosthodontics since 2012. She served as the Head of Implant Unit (2014-2017) and Head of Restorative Dentistry (2017-2018) at the Dental Faculty, Universiti Teknologi MARA. Apart from active clinical work, she is involved in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has edited and contributed articles in journals and textbook and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate research work.

Dr. Joan Lim Zhi Yin

Dr. Joan Lim Zhi Yin received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2008 and was awarded first prize in the 6th Scientific Meeting of International Association for Dental Research (IADR). She served as a dental officer in Malacca for 4 years and completed one year of internship in the Department of Periodontics in Malacca. She passed her diploma of membership into the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK (MFDS RCS) in 2012.

In the same year 2012, Dr. Joan pursued her postgraduate training in the Center of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry in University of California, Los Angeles, America (UCLA). She completed her two years full-time residency in UCLA in 2014. Upon graduation, she worked in a clear aligner (invisible braces) company for a year. In addition, due to her interest in periodontics and implantology, Dr. Joan had attended an advanced Surgical implant training in Brazil and completed her advanced periodontal or plastic surgery and implant therapy course conducted by University of Michigan in the year 2016. Currently she is also working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Restorative Dentistry in University of MAHSA.

Prof. Dr. Seow Liang Lin

Prof. Dr. Seow graduated with a Degree in Dentistry from University Malaya in 1991. She was awarded a PETRONAS scholarship to pursue Master and Fellowship degrees in England in 1995. She returned in 1997 to serve as a lecturer at University Malaya. Later she was awarded the Commonwealth University Split-site scholarship and University Malaya Study Award to pursue her PhD degree in 2005.

Prof. Dr. Seow has served as lecturer and senior lecturer in University Malaya for ten years and currently is an Associate Professor and Director of Oral Health Centre at the International Medical University (IMU). Prof. Dr. Seow is actively involved in continuing professional programmes to share her knowledge with fellow colleagues. She has conducted workshops and lectured locally and at numerous countries namely India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, China, Cambodia and Korea.

Prof. Dr. Seow has published in various peer-reviewed international and local journals. She is the Honorary Publication Secretary of Malaysian Dental Association and Founding President of Malaysian Association for Prosthodontics. She is also a Council Member of Asian Academy of Prosthodontics since 2004.

She has special interest in aesthetic dentistry, dental materials and prosthodontics.

Dr Tan Kiat Ling

Dr Tan Kiat Ling graduated from University Of Malaya in 2012 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. She underwent two years’ government service in Kelantan before joining the private sector. During the two years, she completed her training in oral surgery, oral pathology and oral medicine as well as pediatric, periodontology, orthodontic and general dentistry.

Dr Tan is passionate about all aspects of dental care and has special interest in restorative, periodontology and implantology. She regularly attends various educational conferences and courses to upgrade her skills and ensure that all her patients benefit from the most up to date techniques in dentistry.

Dato’ Dr. Syazlli Nazreen

Dato’ Dr. Syazlli Nazreen is a senior and pioneer dental surgeon in KLIDC.

Graduated from University of Malaya in year 2001 and started his career as a private practitioner in Johor Bahru and subsequently established his own private practice in Sepang and Kajang before joining KLIDC in 2011.

His humble yet convincing approach towards patient made him to be one of the highly sort after KLIDC’s practitioner.

Dr. Joel Beh Hong Chin

Dr. Shirleen is a member of the Malaysian Dental Association and continuously attended various lectures every year. Her field of interest includes aesthetic dentistry and fixed prosthodontics (veneers, crowns, bridges and implants). She believes that dentistry should be a holistic approach to treat patient as a whole with care, while maintaining a high standard of dentistry. Dr. Shermaine Lye Wei Tit

Professor Khoo started her career in the specialty of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at University Malaya in 1989 and remained for 20 years before joining IMU in 2008 where up to the present, is Professor of Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology. She is also the Associate Dean responsible for university-wide Community Engagement at IMU.

Her field of specialties includes the clinical and microscopic diagnosis of diseases affecting the mouth, teeth and the temporomandibular joint and also the non-surgical management of these diseases including orofacial pain conditions.

Professor Khoo receives regional and international invitations to speak in her field of specialties as well as examine undergraduate and postgraduates. She is also a member of the Faculty of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

She then returned to Malaysia and served as Dental Officer for 2 years at Malaysia’s Ministry of Health.

He was also appointed to hold the role as honorable Representative of Taipei Dental Association in North Taipei and a member of Asian Pacific Laser Institute (APLI)

Dr. Chin Kit Yi

Dr. Chin Kit Yi graduated from Penang International Dental College with First Class Honors in 2013. She brings with her a wealth of experience in hospitals, community and general dentistry, having served the government in Taiping General Hospital from 2013-2015.

Now, she is back to serve her community in our Subang Jaya branch in the Mediplex of Subang Jaya Medical Centre. Her techniques are quick and precise, hence reducing patient’s anxiety on the dental chair, and ensuring the best outcome.

Dr. Chin is also a member of the American Association of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and had undergone training under the Maxicourse AAID. She has been mentored by the world’s finest implantology and she stresses the importance of restoring lost teeth, and full mouth rehabilitation.

Dr. Wynne Tan Woan Yen

Dr. Ong Xin Min

Prior to returning to Malaysia, she completed a 12 months’ internship program in the National Taiwan University Hospital. Upon returning to Malaysia, Dr. Ong worked as a Dental Officer with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia in Pahang for two years. During the two years, she worked with other specialists and gained invaluable practical experience in all aspects of dentistry.
