Professor Dr. Khoo Suan Phaik

Professor Dr. Khoo Suan Phaik graduated with a Dental Degree from Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya in 1987. Soon after, she completed her Master’s in Oral Pathology at the Eastman Dental Institute, University of London, UK, she went on to obtain her Fellowship in the Oral Medicine specialty from the Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Dr. Khoo started her academic career at the Universiti Malaya and became Associate Professor in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine in 1998. Professor Dr. Khoo obtained a PhD (in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders) from the National University of Singapore and in 2008 she joined the International Medical University (IMU) to become one of the founding members of the School of Dentistry in IMU. She is currently the Professor of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine at IMU. Professor Dr. Khoo has published in various peer-reviewed local and international journals and has lectured and conducted numerous workshops locally and overseas. She is currently the President-Elect for the IADR (Malaysian Section). Her clinical interests are in the area of TMD/Orofacial pain and oral mucosal diseases. |

Assoc. Professor Dr. Seow Liang Lin

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seow graduated with a Degree in Dentistry from the University of Malaya in 1991. She was awarded the PETRONAS scholarship to pursue Master and Fellowship degrees in England in 1995. She returned in 1997 to serve as lecturer at University of Malaya. Later she was awarded the Commonwealth University Split-site scholarship and University of Malaya Study Award to pursue her PhD degree, she obtained PhD degree in 2005. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seow has served as lecturer and senior lecturer in University of Malaya for ten years and currently an Associate Professor and director of Oral Health Centre at the International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seow is actively involved in continuing professional programmes to share her knowledge with fellow colleagues, she has conducted workshops and lectured locally and at numerous countries namely India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, China, Cambodia and Korea. She has published in various peer-reviewed International and local journals. She is the Honorary Publication Secretary of Malaysian Dental Association and Founding President of Malaysian Association for Prosthodontics. She is also Council Member of Asian Academy of Prosthodontics since 2004. She has special interest in aesthetic dentistry, dental materials and prosthodontics. |

Dr. Mohamad Muzafar Hamirudin received his basic dental training at University Of Malaya and his advanced Prosthodontics training at the Institute of Dentistry, The Barts and The London, Queen Mary College, University of London. He is a member of Royal College of Surgeons of England through examination. Dr. Muzafar has held various positions in Malaysian Dental Association as a Council Member and also in various organizing committee. Dr. Muzafar has presented scientific papers locally and internationally, and also active conducting hands-on as well as giving talk at various CPD programmes. |

Dr. Sia Sheau Soon is a Consultant Orthodontist specialized in correction of malocclusion and maxillofacial deformities, rehabilitation of ill dentition and orthognathic (jaw) surgery cases. He graduated from University Malaya in year 2000 with Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree. In year 2003, he was awarded the scholarship from Ministry of Education, Japan to pursue his PhD degree in Orthodontics in Nagasaki, Japan. His field of interest is biomechanics and speedy orthodontic treatment, lingual (invisible) braces, orthodontic implant and orthognathic surgery. |

Dr. Tan Ching Ching is a qualified Orthodontist specializing in children and adult orthodontics as well as orthodontics in combination with surgery. She was awarded ASEAN postgraduate scholarship throughout her 3 years postgraduate training in Singapore. She is a Member in Orthodontics of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK). Dr. Low Soo Huat started his practice as Restorative and Cosmetic Dentist in Taipei since 1993 after graduated from National Taiwan University. He attended professional training courses of Periodontology & Implantology at University of South California from October 2006 to April 007 and Implantology at Havard School of Dental Medicine in 2009. He was appointed as the Representative of Taipei Dental Association in North Taipei and also a member of Asian Pacific Laser Institute (APLI). Dr. Valencia E Jesudoss, a general dental practitioner, graduated with a degree in dentistry from the University of Malaya in 1987. She was civil servant with 18 years of experience in hospital-based clinics, government dental clinics, prisons, Orang Asli settlements, school-based clinics and plantations, nationwide. She served as an Assistant Director in the ICT Unit at the Oral Health Division, Ministry Of Health Malaysia at Putrajaya prior to her retirement. She was involved in the development of the Oral Health Division’s portal and ICT projects nationwide. Currently, she tutors at MAHSA University College and serves as an Assistant Editor with the Editorial Board of the Malaysian Dental Council. She also writes, edits and translates medical-related articles as well as dabbles in graphics-designing for various health publications in her spare time. |
